At the start of week five of fishing, Wicked Pissah is leading the fleet

for the first time this year.

But, Hot Tuna, Fish Hawk, and Pinwheel are trailing by less than five grand.

Meanwhile, last season's top-earner fishing vessel Tuna Dot Com and family operation

Hard Merchandise are far behind the pack.

I'm just gonna wait for our turn and get a bite.

Any minute we're gonna get a bite.

So far this season my mate, Duffy, and I have been doing well together.

This is a beautiful fish.

But this trip, he's away at a wedding so I'm fishing solo.

Hmm. Big mark.

Got to constantly be moving the rod around so if that fish gets up underneath the boat you could

lose him, or if the rod goes slack, the hook could fall out of its mouth.

Of course, I hook up to a double without Duffy.

At any point in time, if the two fish cross I could lose them both.

Every hookup is so precious you never know when you're gonna get 'em.

To have a double hookup like this, it's awesome.

It's really hard to catch a double by yourself because you can't be on both rods at the same time.

You can't maneuver the boat.

There's so many ways to lose a fish.

I got mono on the reel right now.

This is a really good situation.

Oh, the hardest part of solo fishing, but the most rewarding.

I recently got a tip about a spot that has a lot of herring, which odds are,

means the tuna will be there too.

The problem is this is a big spot.

I wanna partner up with someone that has as much experience as I do,

so we have the best shot at finding the tuna and hopefully getting a bite.

Just don't make a clean spot or nothing.

Then I'll have to clean the whole boat for crying out loud.

Marciano, he has tons of experience. You stay here.

It was only three years ago that the Hard Merch was the top earning boat in the fleet.

I wouldn't wanna work with anyone else.

Well, here's what I got.

I got a friend of mine lobstering offshore here in a spot that we haven't fished in.

Okay.

And he said there is just a ton of herring.

I'll fish the north side, you fish the south side and we can kind of get it dialed in.

What do you say we do that?

When you're out of the water, a fish finder will only show you what's directly below

the boat.

You could have tuna all around you and not even know it.

So, it's worth teaming up to double our chances of getting a mark and hopefully a payday.

Yeah, yeah.

Let's team up and work together for the next week or two and see if--see if things work out.
