Four weeks ago,
the world's most exciting singing competition returned...
Daly: ...And the blind auditions kicked off.
Adam: The exciting part about the blind auditions
is hearing something you love that you want to be a part of.
Christina: I like creating a team of diverse individuals,
and the blind auditions are so exciting for that reason.
At the end of the day, only one person can win "The Voice."
But you got to be the best.
Hi. I'm Carson Daly,
and welcome to "The best of the blind auditions."
Tonight, we're catching you up
on how our four superstar coaches
built their teams of 16 this season.
Yeah!
It'll give you the chance to pick your favorites
and be ready for next week's intense battles
where only the strongest survive.
...on what promises to be
the most exciting season of "The Voice" yet.
Blake: This isn't some amateur talent competition.
This is "The Voice."
And a lot of these people, I can see them going to the end.
Daly: Each coach has selected 16 team members
they want to work with and develop.
Christina: We all, as artists, care about fellow artists,
and we appreciate, you know, what they go through
and what it takes to get on that stage.
And I'm ready to take them to the next level.
- Yes! Daly: - But only one coach
will deliver the artist who wins it all.
Daly: A recording contract with Universal Music Group
and be named "The Voice."
This season, you can play along at home
as the fifth coach.
Go to "The Voice" on Facebook.
You may just win a trip to the finale.
Christina actually does have a fan.
And later tonight we will take a never-before-seen
backstage look with our coaches...
You guys have a little diva in you.
I am a damn diva.
...and give you a sneak peek at the battle rounds...
Daly: ...With a new twist that will change "The Voice"...
Blake: - Whoa! - ...Forever.
Steal! Steal! Steal! Steal!
We got a steal!
But first, here's one last look
at the different strategies each coach used
to shape their teams and arm themselves for battle.
Yes!
- Damn. - I got to have you. You need to pick me.
I was the first to push my button.
Screw Christina. I'm a season two champ.
Shut your pie hole, Shelton. I, too, have won "The Voice."
Adam Levine likes to win.
He won the first season of "The Voice,"
and he's hungry to get back on top.
Cee Lo: I was really impressed.
Your vocal portion was... it was very confident and swaggery.
- Is it my turn? - Well...
Cee Lo: Adam is shameless about winning.
People dare to venture into Stevie Wonder territory. It's tough.
I want to see you guys sing together.
- Oh, you... Adam: - I do.
I can't fight what's in here, Shelton.
Christina: Adam brings, you know, feistiness to the table
and a lot of excitement, and it's fun that way.
You were just too strong a singer
for me not to push my button.
You really are special, and I felt like
"I have to do this. It has to happen."
Adam is... we call him a car salesman,
but he's really good at it.
You're awesome, and I want you.
Ooh!
You're wonderful. You're beautiful.
Christina: I understand where you're coming from.
Adam: - I understand you better. - I give up.
- I got to go with Adam. - Yes!
- Adam. - Adam.
- Team Adam. - Ohh! - Let's do it, man.
Cee Lo: He is a highly competitive guy.
That has caused him to win this thing, you know, once.
There is no coach too difficult to crush.
Daly: Here's your look at the team Adam has built
for season three.
First up, Bronx native Bryan Keith,
who wanted to step out
from his Grammy-winning father's shadow.
Whoo!
Daly: After a stellar performance
that turned all four chairs,
the coaches fought hard for Bryan.
Adam: I got to say, you know,
the first note that you sang, I wanted to turn around,
and then, of course, they all fell like dominoes. Everyone turned around.
But, oh, my God. You are very special, my friend.
Wow. Thank you so much. Thank you.
Cee Lo: You got the range and the rasp,
and when it's the genuine article,
it's very, very effective.
I mean, that's why I pushed my button for you, big brother.
Thank you so much.
Christina: You have a signature voice.
And I would be honored to have you on my team,
- supporting you till the end. - Thank you.
Blake: We've heard so many different singers come out here,
and they sound like different singers
when they go for different parts of the song.
They change their tone.
You sound like the same guy
from the time you start singing... signature.
Yeah, exactly, Christina.
Adam: I would like to say one more thing, which is like,
more than anyone I've seen today, I got to say,
I'm dying to have you on my team,
and I'll be very upset if I don't.
Whoo! Oh, my God.
Daly: Then Bryan had to make the most important decision
of his life.
I got... I got a special place in here...
...for my man Adam right here.
Yeah! Ah!
Adam: Bryan Keith was the win of the day.
I listened to him sing,
and it's this intangible, unnatural ability
to just sing so beautifully.
Blake: Bryan truly is special, and my pitch, it was vague
and I got to be more used-car salesman-y
to get some of these people, I guess.
Yes!
I love when I win a four-chair turnaround,
especially when it's the only one of the day.
Adam won the tough fight for Bryan Keith.
After the break, more talented artists
that scored spots on team Adam.
And later, we see what got Blake, Cee Lo, and Christina
so fired up
when "The best of the blind auditions" continues.
Oh, my God!
Welcome back to "The best of the blind auditions,"
where we are giving you one last look
at the coaches' teams to get you ready
- for next week's battle round. Cee Lo: - Yay!
Before the break,
we saw Bryan Keith wow the coaches
with a four-chair turn...
- Whoo! - ...And pick Adam as his coach.
Yeah!
Other singers soon joined him.
18-year-old Chicago native Brandon Mahone.
You are a soul singer...
a real soul singer, man.
Daly: Theater student Caitlin Michelle.
Band member Joe Kirkland.
It's impossible for me to turn around for somebody
I'm not gonna push my button
for any reason other than I really want them, and that's it.
Daly: Hoping to prove youth doesn't matter,
17-year-old photography student Melanie Martinez
tried to turn chairs with her own take
on a Britney Spears classic.
