"Caution: The following show contains disturbing images for young children""

Let him go in the wild.

We do not want a Satan among us.

Then we will have to break in the devil.

Sajah of Tameem. - Sajah?

And who can break in the devil?

Today all men either fear you or admire you.

Were you to call their chief, he would willingly come to you,

hoping for your pleasure or fearing your hostility.

Anyone like that has no hope to have me.

Who then?

A man whose devil can overpower mine, or be equal to him.

Is this why you continue to refuse your suitors?

Don't you find anyone equal to you?

I want from them two things that cannot be met together.

Submission, so that they follow my lead.

When they do, I reject them and accept them only as soldiers or servants.

That unruly horse.

When I saw it fighting and rebelling,

I found his beauty and strength irresistible.

When it calmed down and submitted to me, all its magic disappeared.

Some priests continue to mutter, saying:

a soothsayer and a Christian?

If so, then she disbelieves in the Christian faith, and follows Satan.

The most hardened among them is Al-Hudhail Ibn Imran, from Taghlib.

He says: we do not know this woman.

She is from Tameem, living with her maternal uncles of Taghlib.

We do not know if she has a father, a mother, a brother or a sister.

Despite her strange behaviour and supremacy over men,

she seems to be Satan's own.

The only thing he takes against me is that people come to me, rather than to him,

when they have a problem or a dispute,

He will see who follows whom.

This is a cloud bringing us rain, after such a long draught.

I hope so, by God's will.

It will bring you no rain.

No, it won't bring you any rain.

What did you say, Sajah?

It brings you no rain.

How do you know?

Have you been informed from on high? Or is it a whisper by your devil?

What are you? Where is your crucifix?

Have you deserted your religion and gave your soul up to Satan?

Sajah was right.

No, do not say this, for then you incur God's displeasure.

Do not be fooled by that apostate soothsayer.

It is merely a test by the Lord,

so that people should prove the strength of their faith,

and to show who of them follows Satan.

Asad's Lands

A most warm welcome to the chief of Ghatafan, Uyaynah Ibn Hisn.

Welcome to the masters of Abs and Dhubyan.

Please sit.

Are you a prophet? - Yes, I am.

Do you receive revelations?

How could I be a prophet if I do not receive revelations?

Musailamah of the Haneefah tribe claims that he is a prophet.

Now we have too many prophets. Whom shall we believe?

You better believe the prophet of your allies, the Asad.

They are closer to your area.

Tell me some of your revelations.

Pigeons and doves, and the fasting smaller birds.

They fasted years before you.

Our kingdom will include Iraq and Syria.

We are the people of eloquence.

By God, you have nothing other than stupid rhymes of soothsayers.

Never mind.

I will believe the one who is true and steadfast in war.

You, the Asad tribe, are its true people.

You know what Abu Bakr has done to us at Dhul-Qassah,

Dhu Hasa and Al-Rabadhah.

We offered him a compromise,

saying that we will attend to prayers, but will not pay zakat.

He did not accept that. He fought us at the head of his companions

and shattered our army.

Now we will stop prayers and zakat altogether

and go back to our pre-Islamic practices.

We will even believe you are a prophet, if you wish.

We will bring our peoples together with your people,

so that we will all fight under your banner.

He defeated us in those battles because we were disunited.

Go ahead with your rhymes as you please, or stop them,

and claim that you are a prophet or do not make such a claim.

The real test is in the battlefield.

The one who triumphs with his sword is the one whose views are victorious.

Can't anyone do something to help him?

The lad is in a state. The devil has overcome him.

In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit I am administering this.

In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit

I am ordering you, accursed devil to depart this lad

and go back where you came from in hell.

Go out. Go out. Go out.

Move aside. Let me look at the lad.

Get lost. What have you got to do with this?

You are not managing to calm him. What harm is there if I try?

He will have even more harm.

Go away. Let it not be that two devils afflict him at the same time.

There is no harm if she tries.

We do not all follow your religion.

The lad does not, either. We know him.

Yes... - Yes... Let her.

Not to worry. It is all right.

Where am I? What is happening to me?

Not to worry. It was a passing incident.

Confound you. How stupid, how foolish you all are.

Did I do well?

If you tell anyone, my curse will follow you until you are truly dead.

These hard times have continued for long.

Some people have started to move away, searching in God's land.

What do you advise?

I suggest that we send a delegation to Khosrau. He may send us some relief.

We may seek the help of Al-Manadhirah, as we are their neighbours.

The situation in Persia is not very stable at the moment.

I do not think that they will help you

unless you are prepared to be their servants.

Yet, I think they will not trust you after what happened in the Battle of Dhu Qar.

Then we better send a delegation to the Byzantine Emperor

seeking the help of the Ghassani Arabs.

Why would the Byzantine Emperor help you when you are not his subjects?

What is wrong with you, people of Taghlib and Rabeeah?

Why do you accept weakness and inaction?

You belong neither to Persia nor to Byzantium.

Nor do you follow the Arabs of the Peninsula in Najd and Hijaz.

Events pass you by and you remain in place like a stone by the roadside.

You are hopeless and helpless.

Do you not hear the news of the Arabs?

A Caliph in Madinah faces a hard struggle against Arabian tribes that deserted Islam,

in Yemen, Hadramout, Oman, Al-Muhrah, Bahrain

and in the areas of the tribes of Haneefah, Asad, Ghatafan and Dhubyan.

All of them are seeking a kingdom and boasting of a prophet.

Where do you stand against these?

Soon one party will win and become the master of Arabia.

They will then move against you,

subduing you and making you their own slaves.

So, what do you suggest, Sajah?

Follow my lead and we will become the masters of all Arabs.

We have nothing to do with either the Persians or the Byzantines.

We better go out to our origins.

God has combined in me the two tribes:

Taghlib are my maternal uncles, and their cousins from Rabeeah.

If you obey me and come out with me,

my own people, the Tameem, will not refuse to join us.

We will become the most powerful and numerous in Arabia.

If we defeat Abu Bakr in Madinah, all Arabs will submit to our rule.

And we take a woman for a leader?

How will Arabian tribes be in awe of us?

A woman prophet, with heavenly troops.

Now we attack them in their own areas:

each group in their area.

All armies march at the same time, each towards its assigned place.

Thus, we prevent their grouping under a single banner.

Although our armies will be going to their separate fronts, as I have explained,

they are unlike our enemies.

They will remain in contact as a single army,

by means of the post we have arranged between them and Madinah.

Thus I and my colleagues will be able to follow what happens with each,

and what God will determine with regard to the overall plan.

Abu Sulaiman Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed

will be the central command.

He has the command of his own army, and the overall command of all units.

I would have loved that the Caliph had given me permission

to go out and fight with you.

It is better that you stay with him.

We are fighting according to your plan.

Be true to God and He will be certain to help and strengthen you.

As for victory, God's promise will certainly come true.

What great events we have seen in such a short time of our life.

Only twenty-four years ago,

we were all engulfed by jahiliyyah,

then God sent us His Messenger, (peace be upon him)

He was alone, then a handful of people led the way to Islam.

The Prophet continued to warn and give glad tidings,

but people met him with ridicule and denial.

I can hear their voices now when they met at Dar Al-Nadwah, and I am one of them.

And now, we see the truth of his promise.

God is certain to fulfill the rest: Persia and Syria,

then the faith will spread throughout the earth.

But...

While we are certain of this,

we do not know who of us will see the completion of this

and who will be gathered to God before that.

Have some sleep.

Tomorrow you will march with Khalid's army.

He is the one who does not sleep and lets no one sleep.

I entrust you, your faith and your last actions to God.

This is the time for your spear, Wahshi.

Make sure that you use it for God's cause

and never despair of God's mercy.

Only unbelievers so despair.

In the name of God, the Lord of Grace, the Ever-Merciful.

From Abu Bakr, God's Messenger's successor

to all who receive this address,

whether they have held to Islam or deserted it.

I have sent you an army composed of the Muhajireen and the Ansar

and those who follow them with goodness.

I have instructed them not to fight anyone

until they have called on them to respond to God's call.

Those who respond, agree and reform will be accepted

and helped to maintain good action.

Those who refuse shall be fought.
