Depending on the angle you view it from, you'll see either three or four islands,

hence the name "Sanshiroujima."

It can be reached on foot during low tide.

Early in the morning, local chefs bring supplies across the water by boat,

and open up food stalls only during low tide, when the path is clear.

That's where you get the gourmet barbecue of Nishiizu...

the legendary Sanshiroujima Tombolo.
