Ghosts of Morgan City

I've been working for the morgan city police department 34 years.

In recent weeks, my department has been overrun with reports

Of strange and unusual activity that we just can't explain.

The people down here are looking for answers,

So we're gonna try something that we've never tried before.

- You heard a growl? - There was a growl.

We've got a team of some of the best

Paranormal investigators in the country.

Is there a negative entity here?

Oh! - What the hell?

If this paranormal team can't figure out

What's going on down here, we're in a lot of trouble.

Alright, let's go talk to chief.

We're looking for clues to try to figure out

How all these hauntings in st. Mary parish are connected.

We have the mist that turns into the ghost of ada laboeuf.

Then, we have the ghost of a little girl

Who was haunting yvette's family.

Then, the apparition of a nurse at the idlewild plantation.

Other than the fact that all of the spirits have been female,

We haven't been able to identify any concrete patterns.

Our last two cases were in patterson,

But now, chief bo's called us back to morgan city

To investigate unusual activity at a nearby island.

It almost feels like we're going in circles.

I got a call from a commercial fisherman this morning.

Mm-hmm.

He said he was around an island in the river,

Running his traps near a place they call "kamikaze hole."

He said it was foggy.

He was just minding his own business.

And he looked up on the shoreline of the island,

And it looked like two guys were dragging something

Along the shoreline of the island.

Why is it unusual that you see someone on the island there?

I mean, the island's uninhabited.

There's nobody supposed to be living on the island.

It almost looked like they were digging,

Or trying to bury whatever it was.

He did his crawfish traps.

He went to leave, but he wanted to see where they went.

And he looked for them, but they were gone.

He didn't hear a boat motor, a mud boat, air boat,

Anything like that. That's strange.

And you know, he makes his living down there.

He knows what he's talking about.

It must have been something really spooky

For him to call us.

We sent guys down there to look. They didn't see anything.

They didn't see any drag marks,

Any freshly dug holes, or anything like that.

No tracks, or any boats, or anything like that, huh?

Nothing.

What's strange about this is,

You have a local fisherman that grew up in that area.

He knows it like the back of his hand.

He saw two guys on an island.

In the blink of an eye, they just disappeared.

We don't have an explanation for it, so, therefore, called y'all.

Real people do not vanish into thin air.

However, ghosts do.

You think we could talk to him?

No. He's cajun.

They don't like talking about ghosts,

Especially on the camera.

Superstition.

Some cajuns believe that, whenever you talk about ghosts,

You sort of jinx yourself,

And you will see that spirit again.

They got a history of this kind of stuff down there,

And you hear things about that area, but...

I don't know if you're familiar with a show called "naked and afraid."

They had one of the guys on that show

That spent 25 days out there... jeremy mccaa.

He reported seeing things down there.

We're coming in this bayou.

We're going in, real deep in there.

Apparently, jeremy mccaa didn't just survive

25 days on the island.

He actually saw something that really freaked him out.

Could get them in touch with jeremy,

And jeremy could explain everything to them, too.

That'd help us out a lot.

The police swept kamikaze hole for evidence of human activity.

They didn't find anything.

So, we're gonna go in with our equipment

To do a sweep for paranormal activity.

The motors of these boats are probably louder

Than your normal outboard motor.

I don't know how you could not hear

Somebody coming for, like, a mile up there river, here.

So, if there was somebody, a real person

Out here on the island,

Not quite sure how they could go unnoticed

If they came in a boat.

This is true bayou.

I mean, look at the carpet, here.

Bo's guys left a flag for us.

I think that's it, right there. This must be the place.

Ain't nobody in their right mind

That's gonna be hanging out back here.

Digging a hole in this thing,

Trying to bury a body, or something... or treasure.

So, this is where our witness said that he pulled up to.

And he said, from the yellow marker...

Which is right behind me, only about ten feet back...

That's where he saw the two guys.

And they were burying something.

That's not very far.

He looks, looks away, looks back up, and they've disappeared.

Bubba tells us that nobody really knows how big this island

Is because it's always fluctuating

With the water levels.

He thinks it's about 3 miles wide.

So, jereme and I are gonna split up,

So that we can cover more ground.

If you hear us scream for any reason...
