Here in Louisiana, the legends and lore
are a great part of our culture.
I have to say, though, with the uptick
in paranormal activity, our people are pretty spooked.
Morgan City, state your emergency.
She called about...
I've been working for the Morgan City Police Department
34 years, and recent weeks,
my department has been overrun with reports
of strange and unusual activity that we just can't explain.
The people down here are looking for answers,
so we're gonna try something that we've never tried before.
You heard a growl? There was a growl.
Is there a negative entity here?
Son of a bitch.
- Oh, my God! - Aah!
We've got a team of some of the best
paranormal investigators in the country.
And if this paranormal team can't figure out
what's going on down here, we're in a lot of trouble.
I remember Mayor Boo and Chief Bo said
that they were getting calls that the activity was spreading.
I mean, Patterson is five miles from Morgan City,
on the other side of the Atchafalaya River.
The last case we investigated was in Morgan City,
but we're headed to Patterson now because the hauntings,
they're spreading throughout the rest of Saint Mary Parish.
Punch this in the GPS, Railroad Avenue.
Okay.
Chief Bo just flagged me down
about an emergency call in Patterson.
The owner of the property called the Patterson PD
claiming that there was an intruder in her attic,
but according to the chief,
there's a lot of bizarre activity going on over there.
So the police are on their way there now
in case it is an intruder.
We're on our way in case it's possibly paranormal.
What's with all those bottles in the trees?
Bottle trees.
You will definitely learn that Cajun people
have a bunch of different methods
that they use to keep evil spirits
from entering their homes.
The Cajuns believe that the spirits will see these bottles
and be attracted by them
and they make their way over there
and they'd end up getting trapped inside the bottles.
This parish is definitely trying to protect itself
from something.
We're getting closer. The energy's getting hotter.
Sarah, is it getting more intense
as you physically get closer to the place?
Yes.
The closer I get to the home itself,
my body will just become electric.
It's almost like being able to barely see something
and then it becomes... It, like, peels back the layers.
I can start seeing it clearer and clearer and clearer.
Like, I feel very, like...
trapped.
Immediately, I started feeling very claustrophobic,
almost like being wrapped in something very tight,
so I pulled out my journal and started channeling.
I'm getting smacked in my chest,
which could mean that the presence passed
from a blow to the chest.
I'm not sure just yet, but be careful of your chest.
Okay, let's do it.
Ben. Ben.
I see they got an upside down cross.
Oh, yeah.
I feel a very ominous feeling.
I don't necessarily think it's a satanic symbol,
but it's just definitely something that caught my eye.
How's it going, guys? Thank y'all for coming.
I know the family here, Miss Boudreaux.
Been knowing her for a long time.
We received a couple calls from her
about some stuff going on around her residence
and we checked it out, we didn't find anything.
First thing was she called about the flower pot
moving across the front porch with nothing,
just all on its own.
Really?
It's like someone's trying to get inside of her residence,
but when she look into her video equipment,
she don't see anything. There's nothing there.
So this last call she's giving us,
advising that she heard noise in the attic
and there's moving around
and the shingles are falling down inside of her residence.
We've checked it out. We didn't find anything.
So, the fact that Patterson PD
has been called to this house on three separate occasions
and that each time it seems like this poltergeist activity
is becoming more aggressive,
that's pretty unsettling.
We're gonna turn it over to y'all.
We've done everything that we can do.
Want to lead the way, chief?
Yes, sir.
We do our due diligence and check everything out,
but this is a little bit more than we can handle.
I don't think there's anything in this residence,
but there gots to be something
'cause Miss Yvette is a truthful person
and I don't think she's gonna have us
come out here for nothing.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Apparently, right after the family
heard loud noises from the attic,
all of these tiles came crashing down from the bathroom ceiling.
There's like three tiles left on the whole ceiling.
Wow.
I don't know for sure if anything paranormal caused this,
but if it did, it could be a very destructive spirit
that's definitely trying to get somebody's attention here.
Something feels suppressed in this home.
I think we're dealing with several different energies
and we have an energy that can't get out,
that can't move or leave for some reason.
- Hi. - Hi.
- Yvette? - Hi.
This is Sarah and Jereme. Hi.
- How you doing? - Hi.
Do you mind if we ask you a few questions?
That's fine. Okay, great.
Yvette, is it okay if I sit next to you? Yeah, yeah.
I just want to be able to feel everything
that I can if possible.
Y'all must be cooking something.
It smells really good in here.
Jambalaya.
Jambalaya's one of my favorites.
Is it okay if we film you while we talk?
Yes, definitely. Okay, thank you.
So, Yvette, what happened today?
Why did you call Chief Grogan over?
We were cooking some jambalaya, just hanging out,
and Cody had gone in the bathroom
and me and Rhonda were in the kitchen,
and I heard some really loud steps in the attic
and then we heard a loud crash and Cody screamed.
And when he come running out of the bathroom,
the ceiling tile had all fallen on top of him.
When you say steps, did it sound like banging
or actually you kind of heard something like somebody...
Like somebody walking.
It sounded like somebody walking.
Since the day we moved in, we've had things happen.
I think the first maybe year to two
we kind of tried to justify the things,
and then it progressively got worse.
It's definitely picking back up, and we don't know why.
And you've been here how long?
25 years. 25 years.
When would you say the activity really started picking up?
Probably when my youngest son, Chance, was about 3.
He would sit on a bean bag right here
and he would sit, like, to one side of the bag,
and we'd tell him, "Dude, sit in the middle,
sit in the middle before you fall off."
And he'd say, "Mama, my friend's sitting with me."
The little girl's name was Holly.
He called her Holly.
Then the same shoe of every pair of his shoes would disappear.
He had some little dress suede shoes...
The left shoe was missing.
His cowboy boot... The left shoe was missing.
And then he had some tennis shoes...
The left shoe was missing.
So I would keep a pair of sandals in my car
because every time I'd go to bring him to the baby sitter,
he had no shoes.
The last time things got really, really bad,
my husband, right before he passed away,
woke up and he could hear Chance screaming
and couldn't find him, and he was under our bed
and all he could see was one of his feet.
So he was pulling on his feet.
There was no one else under the bed,
and he just kept saying,
"I can't get him, I can't get him."
When we finally pulled Chance out...
That must have been so scary for you, honey.
Can you imagine?
Your son is being affected, he's being pulled under a bed,
and I don't know of any energy that's just a spirit or a ghost
that would want to do something like that.
He was pulling on his legs and he couldn't pull him out.
And he couldn't get him out.
Chance, when we finally pulled him out, he was terrified.
He was crying.
He was so scared.
He told us it was a bad man.
That's concerning to me because usually, in my experience,
it means it's a negative force.
It seems like this is deliberate and it's meant to cause fear.
When we finally pulled him out, he was terrified.
