Welcome to the 200th episode of Wednesday Food Talk.

Welcome. - Welcome.

It's finally the 200th episode.

Thank you everyone for supporting the show for such a long time.

We have amazing guests today since it's our 200th episode.

They are not just amazing. They are incredibly amazing.

I've never seen them on a variety show before.

Let me introduce them.

He's an actor of a kind.

Is it just acting or is it real?

Well-known for his villain roles, Kim Eui Sung.

Nice to meet you.

He's a very special guest for a variety show.

I'm already scared sitting next to him.

Many people were shocked...

to see her impressive acting skills.

She's an actress with unbelievable energy. It's Ko A Sung!

Hello.

I've never seen you on a variety show before, A Sung.

I was on some shows before.

It's my first time to join a show without promotional purposes.

You don't need to promote it. Your new movie is a huge success.

That's right. - Thank you.

Each of Eui Sung's movie attracted more than 10 million viewers.

He gets all the attention when he appears in a series.

When I appear in a movie, it attracts 10 million viewers.

I'm an actor of 10 million viewers.

We should all learn from him. - Be humble.

I'm too famous to be humble.

I heard that Chan Il contributed a lot to inviting today's guests.

I didn't contribute that much.

We're friends. - Yes.

It hasn't been long since I knew him.

We met for the first time when we shot a food show on skates.

Then I knew that we're the same age.

We had many friends in common.

So I told him, "We should be friends."

It's really nice to have a friend like Chan Il.

That's right. - But my liver suffers a little.

It's great to see Eui Sung here.

But A Sung's one actress we hardly see on a TV show.

What brought you here?

I'm friends with Eui Sung.

We have an age gap of 27 years.

But he's not someone who is very conservative.

He hangs out with young people like me.

You guys are close. - We're like friends.

That's right.

Don't young people feel pressured to hang out with you at first?

Yes. - "What's that old man doing here?"

Don't they react this way at first?

He looks so scary. - Look, he's glaring at Hyun Moo.

I know you are close with them now. But what about at first?

Don't give me an excuse. - Okay.

I shot a movie with A Sung once.

Then we went drinking too. I thought she's really cool.

She's a really cool person.

She was so mature that she didn't seem like a young lady to me.

I asked her, "Shall we be friends?"

She said, "Sure!"

She knows how to handle it. - That's what she said?

That's how we became friends.

In fact, Eui Sung is...

a gourmet himself. - Yes.

Does he take you to nice restaurants since you two are friends?

I totally trust him on that.

I met Eui Sung for the first time...

when we shot the movie "Office".

We shot it in Busan.

He took me to all the nice places that are not known to many people.

That's when I started to trust him.

Our first meal was milmyeon.

I see. - Milmyeon?

People usually have it as it is,

or cut the noodles first.

A Sung was having it in her mouth and then had it cut.

She's the coolest.

That's a great idea. - She's the cool milmyeon eater.

She's so cool.

For our 200th episode,

we have invited two movie stars...

with 10 million viewers' records who are also known as gourmets.

Today's topic is...

We had this in a snack bar when we were young.

They often sold it on a truck. We dip it with salt.

It's very chewy.

When I got older, I had it with meat broth...

along with moist meat.

Many people love it...

in a soup with other parts of the meat.

It reminds us of the old times. It's sundae!

Goodness.

I'm sure every Korean...

has enjoyed sundae since young.

Do you have any good memories about sundae?

I have a good memory of sundae stew.

It hasn't been that long.

It's about five years ago. - I see.

I went to Busan once and shot a movie for the whole day...

at the mouth of Nakdong River.

It was really cold.

The sea breeze was icy and strong.

When I was done shooting,

I was about to get back to Seoul on a train at Busan Station.

My body was just frozen.

It happens. - I shot the movie whole day.

My body couldn't get warm again.

I was hungry, and I could not just get on the train like that.

So I decided to go to a pork gukbap restaurant near Busan Station.

I had pork gukbap with sundae.

It just tasted different.

I realized that it was food for laborers.

It was something for laborers.

I thought the stew would taste even better...

after a long and cold day.

That's what I thought.

It happens.

Sometimes it just tastes different after a long and tiring day.

Do you like sundae, A Sung?

I'm sure you're here because you love sundae.

Do you like it?

I encountered with a similar case.

I filmed a drama series when I was 13.

It was really cold then.

I was physically tired.

The director was thoughtful...

and said "Go and eat something that can warm you up."

So I had sundae stew.

When you were 13? - Yes.

That was very early for you to try sundae stew.

How would she know if it's good?

You were in grade six. - Yes.

No wonder she became friends with Eui Sung.

I have to respect her.

I think that was the first time...

I tried sundae stew. - I suppose.

When I tried the soup, my body gained back strength.

From the bottom of your body. - That's when I realized...

that it was food for laborers.

You realized it when you were 13.

That was very fast.

I think it is...

a sort of stereotype that...

people think sundae stew is for adults.

Don't young people like sundae stew too?

Yes, there's a lot of people who like sundae stew.

Yes, there's a lot.

I love it.

Chan Il, do you like sundae? - Of course.

Sundae's good...

when you have it in traditional markets.

You had it in Tongin Market?

Yes. That's my hometown.

I followed my mother to the markets...

because I wanted to eat sundae.

My mother liked sundae. So we always had it there.

In the markets,

they chop it on a chopping board and serve it right away.

That's right.

I enjoy having pork liver since I was young.

I tried it before I was 8.

I don't like pork liver.

He knew he had to keep his liver healthy since then.

He drinks a lot. - You don't eat pork liver?

I still can't eat it.

Really?

How is it good? It's very dry.

It's savory. - It is.

Fresh pork livers are...

really delicious.

But it's true...

that dry ones aren't so good.

I get what he means. - The fresh ones are soft.

Yes, you have to eat it when it's just steamed.

I haven't tried the good ones yet. - You should eat the good ones.

Really? - Yes.

Sundae reminds you of old memories.

We have it a lot today too.

I like it with tteokbokki the best.

You dip it in the sauce. - That's right.

The more you know, the tastier it gets.

Let's check out sundae's history and different flavors of it.

There are many famous regions that are known for sundae.

There's abai sundae originated by displaced people from North Korea...

in Sokcho, Gangwon Province. It's Hamgyeong Province style.

Squid sundae is very famous too.

Baekam sundae is famous in Baekam meyon, Gyeonggi Province.

Byeongcheon sundae is famous in Byeongcheon myeon, Cheonan.

There's blood sundae from Jeonju. There's sundae from Jeju Island too.

We have different sundaes from each region.

Which region's sundae is your favorite, Eui Sung?

By far, my favorite is blood sundae from Jeonju.

Blood sundae is really good.

Yes. - Really?
