The first 200 lines.

Mayor's calling you the Crescent City 2.0 Commission.

I'm sorry, Pride, I can't do this.

I quit.

Our victim is Todd VonRoenn,

janitor at Stennis Space Center.

So he's stealing tech.GREGORIO: But for who?

Jorge Pérez.

What are the practical needs?

Maybe the batteries are gonna power whatever it is.

How do the Russians play in?

Engineers. They specialize in submersibles.

They all procured their visas from the same guy.

PRIDE Nicholas Antonich.

Ukrainian national, but an international fugitive.

We think that Nico got his hands on a submarine? Yeah.

Look who else is at the party.

Oh, that is our murder suspect.

No pulse.

Some kind of storage racks?

They're for torpedoes.

He's building a weapon.

Man, Beyoncé is not in the Illuminati.

Why can't you just accept the fact that she's one

of the most talented artists of our generation?

Based on pure raw ability alone.

Well, why can't both be true?

A natural-born genius

and the leader of a secret society

bent on controlling world events.

Man, you're lucky you own a boat and I don't.

Otherwise I'd never come out here with you.

Yeah, more than just the boat.Yeah, it's the beer, too.

Throw me another one?

Hey. You see that?

In the water.

Swimming right at us.

Yeah, I see it.

What kind of fish moves that fast out here?

Uh, Taylor?

Taylor, that's no fish.

What was that?

Taylor, we're sinking. Let's go.

Morning, Allie.

Good morning.

Can I get you some coffee?

Call somebody to a bar at stupid o'clock in the morning,

yeah, coffee's the least you can do.

Here you go.

There's, uh, grits, too. Coming right up.

Okay. You're a good Southern boy.

Give me coffee and breakfast, but, uh,

you called me here to talk.

I'm here.

You talk.

I just figured you might have something to get off your chest.

That's all.And why is that?

Because the mayor creates a commission...

to change the way we do things here in New Orleans.

Wants you to be the voice of the next generation.

Just as we're starting up, you quit.

That's right.

There's a reason.I've got

my own nonprofit to run. Maybe I'm overextended.

Don't have time for hot air and politics.

Oh, well, you know it's always hot air and politics.

No. I think there's something else.

Deputy mayor put you up to this?

Nope. Just asking 'cause I'm concerned.

But if there is something that I can help with...

We don't know each other.

We don't. It's true.

But I admire you, Allie, and I think you're more than just

important to the commission.

You're essential.

So I come to you

with an offer not just of grits and good manners.

I come to you with an offer of friendship.

And discretion.

It's just a stupid mistake I made.

I've made one or two of those myself. Mm.

Not like this.

Damn, these are good.

My mama's recipe.

This mistake?

There are some photos I wish I hadn't taken.

I thought they were gone, but...

But...?

But yesterday I received an anonymous text

threatening to release them unless I leave the commission.

Blackmail.

I guess that's the word, yeah.

I'm not asking for details,

but you are very much in my area of expertise right now.

Fixing stupid mistakes?

Helping the innocent.

Any idea who could've sent those texts?

Only one other person knows they exist.

You probably know him. Jason Lee.

Louisiana State Senator Jason Lee?

Mr. Family Values himself.

What are these, truth grits?

Yeah, that's...

surprising, because...

He's married? Yeah.

On the other side of the aisle.

Not my business to judge

what goes on in other people's private lives, but...

Relationship was before he was anybody,

let alone a rising political star.

I didn't know he was married when we got started

and I ended things as soon as I found out.

Jason get the same threat?

I mean, it could be he's being blackmailed, too.

Yeah, I tried to text him,

but he ghosted me.

As far as he's concerned, I don't exist.

Well, either way, I'm not gonna stand around

and watch you get extorted.

If you're leaving the commission,

I want it to be on your terms,

not because you're being forced out.

Excuse me. Khoury.

Stop, stop. Say that again.

Got to be honest, when I got orders from JSOC

to find an armed Soviet sub off the coast,

I thought I was being pranked.

Coast Guard pulled two fishermen out of the Gulf

that can attest this threat is real.

Well, the Navy put me in charge

of all available resources in the area.

We'll locate the sub, take it out.

Afraid it's not that simple,

Captain Brooks.

Man named Jorge Pérez and his partner Nico Antonich

modified the sub to run on all electric power.

Usual tools won't work.

Guess we got to go old-school, then.

Good old-fashioned grid search.

In the Gulf of Mexico?

Be happy to narrow it down if you can help.

There is one lead.

We know that the fishing boat that got attacked was due south

of where we believe the sub was being docked.

Then let's start there.

The torpedo that took out

that fishing boat, any pieces of it left?

Not pieces. The whole thing.

Sunk to the ocean's floor once it ran out of fuel.

We are mounting a recovery effort right now.

Any idea why it didn't explode upon impact?

Sounds like it wasn't armed. But we'll send it back

to Belle Chasse for an examination.

Thank you, Captain.

Copy that.

Why fire

an unarmed torpedo at a random fishing boat?

Proof of concept for any potential buyers.

If Nico and Pérez were looking to sell a sub for smuggling,

no need to prove it's lethal.

I think we're well beyond smuggling here.

And thanks to our Stennis janitor stealing

that battery tech, that sub might be

near impossible to find.

Pérez and Nico shouldn't be.

And like magic, Triple P with the remedy to all that ails.

Oh, you got a trace on my missing sub?

Nah, but I got a line on Nico Antonich.

I hacked the phone of the man who killed our janitor.

He was getting mystery texts.

This is the latest one he got from a few days ago.

"Meet tonight, usual spot," signed N.

He's not much of a conversationalist.

No. Man gets right to the point.

Yeah, they seem to meet on a regular basis.

Well, any idea where the usual meeting location might be?

Nah. Nico uses a different burner phone

every time they make contact.

No GPS.Well, not exactly the Rosetta Stone.

Ah, come on, man.

You got to get creative, baby.

There's a strong possibility

Nico don't even know

our bearded friend is dead.

So, even if we can't locate Nico...

Maybe we can draw him out when he tries to make contact--

Patton, boy, you're brilliant.Come on, player.

Who you think you're dealing with?

Here you go.

That's funny. I thought I'd beat you here.

It's midday. I'm always here.

Ordinarily. But today is...Therapy, yes.

I haven't blown it off, just moved it to tomorrow.

Good. Is it?

I still can't see how someone

waving a finger in front of my face

is supposed to help me with my PTSD.

And this from the woman who sat with me

as I microdosed LSD.

Well, that had the added benefit of me not being the lab rat.

Yeah, well, you got to give EMDR a chance.
