The first 176 lines.

Daly: This week on "The Voice"...

The blind auditions began with our strongest talent ever.

Blake: The blind auditions are just so exciting,

hearing all these great singers.

You have no idea what they look like.

That's my favorite part of "The Voice."

- Wow! - God.

- Damn. - Yes!

- I loved it! I loved it! - She's like a superstar.

- You got a great voice. - Whoo!

Daly: And the teams of 16 started filling up.

Here's where our coaches stand.

Adam failed to score a single artist last night,

leaving his team total at 2.

Blake picked up two artists, bringing his total to 4.

Cee Lo scored one singer, giving him a total of 3.

And Christina added two artists, bringing her total to 4.

Christina: It's so amazing to be able to

accumulate such talent on my team

without being able to judge them

for anything other than their actual voice.

Daly: Tonight, "The Voice" premiere week continues.

Daly: It will be a night of big surprises...

- You want some of this? - I do.

Whoo!

Daly: ...And incredible stories.

I left Nigeria because our lives were in danger.

In China, I am, like, Lady Gaga.

That is awesome. That's a first.

Daly: And our coaches will do whatever they can

- to win the artists. - I want you.

I turned around first. I want you more.

Pick me!

Daly: But only one will go on to win it all...

a recording contract with Universal Music Group

and be named The Voice.

The blind auditions continue right now.

As our coaches head for their chairs,

our first artist arrives for his blind audition.

Samuel: My name is Samuel Mouton.

I'm 19 years old, from Fort Collins, Colorado.

I've been singing my whole life, since young toddler.

My dad and his brother

had a band together when I was younger,

and it was kind of like reggae.

I grew up watching them, and I wanted to be a lot like my dad.

And my uncle even signed me up for this.

I'm really proud of him, you know?

I mean, he's been a loser forever,

and so this is, like, a major step.

My parents own two family restaurants.

And I'm a cook there. I cook pizzas and wash dishes.

As much as I love to cook,

I don't want to do it for the rest of my life.

Get ready, man.

- I'm ready. - We're with you, baby.

- I'm ready. - Good luck.

Samuel: My parents did play a lot of Bob Marley growing up.

That was huge to me,

and that's kind of the style that I want to go for.

It's all about the love.

And I think that this show, it's the perfect show for me

because I sound different than I look.

I just need to go kill it out there,

get one of them coaches to turn around for me.

- This is my one shot. - Thank you.

I like the idea of blind auditions,

because I kind of like that surprise factor.

Come on, Blake! Whoo!

Hey, brother. What's your name, man?

I'm Samuel Mouton.

Samuel, where you from?

I'm from Fort Collins, Colorado.

First of all, I'm the moron that didn't push my button,

but I just wanted to get all the facts out of the way.

That was really cool,

but it's not gonna be nearly as cool

as listening to the bickering

that's about to ensue right here.

- Oh, shut up. - Thanks, Blake.

No, that made me feel so good.

That just relaxed me and gave me good energy.

And you just had great follow-through.

I would love to be able to get to know you a little bit better,

see what your turn-ons are, what... what...

No, no, but I'd love to spend some time with you,

get to know you.

You seem like a real artist with something to say.

Adam: I did turn around first.

Just want to throw that out there.

- Oh! - Bro, let me tell you something, man.

I can tell that you have "intentfully" listened to Bob Marley, man.

I can hear just some of the signature inflections of his,

I love that. You know what I mean?

But it didn't sound like an imitation or an emulation.

It just sounded like you adopted it as your own.

Colorado is so far away from Jamaica, man,

so, like, you did a great job, man,

like, you know, identifying with that.

And I could just tell that it moved you, man,

- and it's become you. Adam: - Yeah.

You can tell you're, like, a scholar of reggae music.

But what you did today in front of us was very different,

which is you impacted us

and you made us feel something really special

by doing very little.

And that's the hardest thing, in my opinion,

to be able to accomplish.

So congratulations on that, and I want you!

- I want you, as well. - Please.

- I want you! - I want you more!

And... and... and... and I turned around first. Pick me!

I'd love to just hang out with you.

It would be so cool.

I'm gonna have to...

Me, dude.

I'm gonna have to go with Adam on this one.

I actually thought he was gonna pick you.

I thought you had that connection.

Adam turned around right at the first, like, minute,

and I was just, like, blown away right then.

That was a good, uh, pitch, though.

- Yeah, thank you. - Good one.

You had three! All right!

Yay!

I definitely expected some dreads on Samuel.

I wasn't expecting, you know,

white kid with a baseball cap on.

You want to do this seriously?

Are you done cooking or whatever the hell you were doing?

Yeah, I think I'm done.

I'm done washing dishes.

Daly: Coming up...

- You want some of this? - I do.

Daly: ...Blake shows one of our artists how it's done.

- What? - And later, our coaches are forced

to put up a fight over one very special artist.

Cee Lo had to wait for the obvious high note.

Pick me, for the love of God.

She's got talent. She's dynamic.

I turned around first.

Daly: Welcome back to the blind auditions,

where our coaches are picking singers

based strictly on their voices.

Meet our next artist, a former boy-band member

who's hoping for a second shot at stardom.

Hey, what's up. I'm Chris Trousdale.

I'm 26, and I'm from Big Rapids, Michigan.

I was always drawn to the arts, even as a little kid.

Always, you know, hanging out, just dancing,

and just watching Michael Jackson

and watching all these artists on TV.

I kind of bugged my mom, you know, and dad,

just, "I want to do what they're doing."

When I was 13,

there was an audition for a boy band called Dream Street

with Jesse McCartney.

After a while, we started really, you know,

getting a following, and we sold a million records

and toured, you know, around the country.

It changed my life.

After Dream Street broke up,

it's kind of hard to go from all of that success

and doing what you love to do every day

to doing absolutely nothing.

Currently, I'm working at a sushi restaurant,

and there will be a girl that'll be like,

"yo, I remember you from Dream Street."

And that's... that's really... that's tough, you know?

It's hard to be serving somebody,

and she's like, "what are you doing here?"

"You were my idol. I had you on my bedroom wall."

Feeling this whole thing again over

just brings back so many memories

that I kind of thought I would never find again

or have the opportunity to do again, you know?
