The residents aren't home,

but the suspect may still be inside.

- He tried to get in here, and then he went in

through the window there.

And I don't think he got out before we got here.

K-9's on the way now

because we don't really want to go through the window.

And we're really not supposed to anyway.

We're gonna put that dog through the window

And let him get in there, and if there's anybody in there,

You'll hear some screaming.

All right, the dog's in.

- As you can see here, this is all tore up

Where he tried to get in.

Then he went in through the window.

So we put the dogs in here,

and the dog's not finding anybody.

I hope he didn't cut his feet on that glass.

Man, don't look good.

I ain't seen nothing.

He must have bolted quick.

I don't know how this guy could have got away.

I swear to god.

It looked to me like he got in there

and something spooked him, a second alarm

or people coming or something,

and he must have somehow got out that back window

And faded into the shadows without the bird catching him.

Locks and alarms are not always everything.

In my home, I have trained attack dogs.

This guy would have broken in my house,

my dogs might have killed him.

So this is my buddy Kar.

For the last two decades or more,

I've been working and training German Shepherds.

When I'm home, I can protect my family very well.

But when I'm gone, I really look to them

to guard the fort.

I've been interested in dogs since I was a little boy.

I probably had my first dog at about age eight.

And then I started training them for protection

In my early teens.

Come here.

I love Kar so much and love having him around.

I figured he could use company

and I might enjoy having two of them,

So I got Frankie.

Frankie.

So this dog, I just got him a few days ago.

He comes from Eastern Europe, and there

his owner had trained him to be aggressive towards everybody.

He was not friendly.

He kind of wanted to eat everybody.

So it's gonna be a real challenge

to get him to work with Kar.

Oh, jealousy.

Because they're alpha males

and they both want to be top dogs,

I have one of my best friends who's a great trainer

coming in today to help out.

The first session,

we'll just start out with a few really basic exercises.

I think it should be fun

and probably a little... a little chaotic.

- You ready? - Yeah.

- So second trainer's gonna agitate the dogs

and get them all riled up

to see if they'll still listen to my commands.

Okay, and now turn them on.

- Hey. - Enough. Enough.

Enough. Sitze. Sitze. Whoo.

That's how fired up they get, boy.

- Hey. - Enough. Enough.

They want some.

We had them kind of turn on each other for a quick second.

I think maybe we should take a little break.

- Okay, we'll do muzzle next, but we'll wait a minute.

Yeah.

Feels like a dangerous situation.

As strong as I am, I'm having a hard time

keeping these guys from trying to kill each other.

And, unfortunately, training has got a long way to go.

- Okay, so we're going to do muzzle attacks now.

Okay.

Okay, uh-oh, just enough.

- Enough. Enough.

- Okay, try not to pull up as much.

Just down a little bit.

- Yeah. - Okay, now schtek.

Mm-hmm, and eek them.

Okay, go get 'em.

- With Frankie not knowing you yet,

he's not going to turn off for you.

- Yeah, even Kar's not listening.

But usually he's perfect.

- So this is a whole nother dynamic...

- Yeah, totally different dynamic.

I'm going to break them now, okay.

- Yeah. - Okay, break.

The session was intense.

And, you know, we now know where the holes are.

A lot of things need to be improved.

Telling them to turn off,

you need to say it over and over and over again,

and still they didn't turn off.

- With dogs like these, the most important thing

Is to make them obey your commands.

When I tell them to stop biting and come back to me,

they got to work on that.

And if they don't do that, you're going

to have a big problem, because they're dangerous.

- I got a lot of work to do, but I know I'll get there.
