The first 200 lines.
Hello, it's nice to meet you. Welcome to Sketchbook everyone.
I'm Yu Hui Yeol.
The weather is so nice these days. It's season of love.
You can see a lot of couples on the street.
So I'd like to tell you that the world is not only for couples,
and there are a lot of people who are left out from love...
just like us.
For those who feel left out,
we prepared a special episode with songs about parting.
Let's enjoy the beautiful season together listening to the songs.
The title of today's episode is...
We Are Good at Parting.
That's nice.
I feel like crying just listening to the music.
I'm telling you. You'd need a handkerchief today.
You can't watch this episode without crying.
All right. Let me introduce our first guest singer.
He has a voice that makes you...
shed big drops of tears.
His song was back on the music charts last year.
He's even called "Zombie in the music charts".
He's a romantic beast. He's very popular these days.
It's Han Dong Geun.
Thank you.
He's so cool, isn't he?
Yes. - Yes.
His voice is so handsome.
I can see what it means.
Please welcome Han Dong Geun.
Hello. I'm Han Dong Geun.
When I watch Dong Geun sing,
I can feel his power that attracts people.
Especially when he sings high notes,
he looks like this.
My heart sinks watching you.
Seriously.
When you say something like that, it remains in my head.
That makes me do it strategically.
I see. You'd do it more dramatically.
I'd shake my head so hard that I'd get a cramp in my neck.
That's not what I want.
All right. There's a sentence...
that describes Dong Geun very well.
He's a singer found by "Great Birth",
raised by "King of Mask Singer",
and completed by "Duet Song Festival".
I'd say he's the son of MBC.
But you're in Sketchbook now.
I came here after getting ready in those programs.
He's as good a speaker as a politician.
You have a very smooth way of talking. That's amazing.
Thank you. - By the way,
he has something to celebrate.
He recently got paid as a singer for the first time.
How did you feel?
He looks happy.
Thank you.
How did you feel?
I'm not supposed to say this on TV.
It was amazing.
How good was it?
It was brilliant. - Tell us about it.
Looking at the money, I thought...
"I did it."
It was a lot?
I loved it.
His agency paid him with one-dollar bills...
to make him happy.
What was the first thing you did after getting the money?
My parents have worked hard to support me.
So I wanted to do something nice for them.
I got them a premium medical check-up.
That's nice. You're so thoughtful.
That's the best thing you can do for your parents.
Parents are getting old.
Right. - It'd be nice to give them cash,
but it's also nice to get them a medical check-up. Good job.
What did your parents say?
When they got the gift,
they looked so excited.
They even took a selfie together before they went to bed.
They even took a selfie together.
I was a little sad watching them though.
I don't know how you'd feel about that.
Imagine your parents...
are taking a selfie together like you and your girlfriend...
wearing the same shirts.
I was happy to see that.
Have you seen your parent's selfie before?
No, I haven't.
They usually take a picture with my sister.
They patched things up with each other again.
Patched things up?
I was excited to see that.
They patched things up? All right.
For spring, the season of love,
we invited singers who are good at parting.
What kind of person are you when you break up with a girlfriend?
Break up? - Yes.
You're not asking about when I'm in love.
I'm not curious about what you're like when you're in love.
I know. - When you part with a girlfriend.
You can't think about love watching my face.
When I part with a girlfriend, I become so obsessed.
Obsessed? - Yes.
What does that mean?
I keep thinking about...
what I've done.
You keep blaming yourself. - Right.
Do you wait for her in front of her house?
Yes. I go to the places we went together.
That's scary. - And...
I make a list of the places where we took pictures together...
and even write a letter.
Do you even put it on fire? That's terrifying.
Right.
You do those things.
I look up at the sky.
If you listen to songs about parting at times like that,
you deeply sympathize with the songs.
Well... - Do you have that experience?
I do. There are a lot of songs I sympathized with.
"Passing" by Kim Bum Soo is one of them.
What were the lyrics?
Just like how colds get cured
Just like how fevers cool down
It's a song like that.
I was immersed in emotion.
When you get a cold, - Did you just act?
Why would you say that?
I'm not good at acting.
I bet some of them parted with someone they loved.
Can you sing a song to console them?
Just like you were consoled by the song,
your song would soothes their wounded hearts too.
Please sing "Passing" by Kim Bum Soo.
Okay. - Please give him a big hand.
Of all the songs out there,
songs about the joy and heartbreak of love are the majority.
What he sang is one of the famous ones.
When I first heard the song,
I thought it'd be a great song for a commercial for fever medicine.
It was written by Park Jin Young. - That's right.
It brings back some memories.
Last year when he first appeared on Sketchbook,
he said this when I asked what his dream was.
He wanted to release a studio album,
and he has. That we should congratulate.
I owe it all to you.
It'll be released soon, so tell us about it.
What can we expect from your new album?
I wanted to comfort everyone,
so the concept is paranoia. - Paranoia?
You'll feel it in the songs. - What do you mean by that?
It's quite simple actually.
It could be paranoia regarding the relationship...
between a man and a woman. It could also be...
about the hardships in life that you face every day.
Anyway, that's what the songs are about.
I don't know how to explain it better.
Love isn't something that's easily explained anyway.
The same goes for heartbreaks. - That was quite the line.
Did you like that one? Was it decent?
The album is of paranoia, but it'll be released on Children's Day.
It just happened that way.
My goal is to comfort the exhausted fathers anyway.
This is my lousy attempt to make matters better.
Anyway, I wish fathers the best.
Let's say that your album is finally released...
and someone commented online about it.
What would you want it to say?
The first comment? - That's right.
"Han Dong Geun tried his best."
"I can tell that he put a lot of thought into the album."
"I love all the songs." - I see.
I'd also love for that person to share my songs,
especially ones other than the lead single and such.
It'd be nice to have another song in the album...
to be shared. - That'd be awesome.
The love and support can be overwhelming,
but I hope you'll stay true to how you have been.
I believe that you're genuine in person and through your work.
Your efforts will never betray you.
Now it's time to hear another song from you.
This song is the lead single of my new album.
It's "Crazy", the song I mentioned earlier.
Anyway, I dare you to sing this at a karaoke room.
I'll tell you right now that it's tough to sing.
Will we go crazy trying to sing the song then?
When I was recording it,
I only thought of how amazing the song is, but singing it live...
is a different matter, so knock yourselves out.
All right.
With this song, we'll say goodbye to Dong Geun. Thank you.
Thank you.
All right.
Now it's time to introduce the next artists.
These artists are known for their honest lyrics.
Their words seem to dig deeply in our hearts.
Many people find the lyrics of both these artists relatable.
