Once upon a time…
I wrote an epic story about a beautiful heroine.
And like you might expect from a middle school author,
I gave the main character my name.
It was a fantasy adventure…
…full of love and magic.
- - Konoha!
What are you doing in here? And don't lie and say
you've been studying all day!
It would be futile to spend this much time studying.
Hard work won't guarantee you'll get to live
the good life.
But maybe magic will.
- Magic? - Back then,
I was unshakably certain about one thing.
I was convinced that I, Konoha Satou,
would someday be summoned to another world.
There's no way to know when I'll be called upon
to start my new life.
So I better leave a letter in this world
while I still can. Also, when I get there,
I wonder what my backstory will be.
I bet I'll be a beautiful young girl in love.
I dreamed about it all day, every day,
writing to prepare for my inevitable adventure
in that other world.
It meant everything to me at that time in my life.
- - Hello?
Hey, Mom.
Uh-huh.
10 YEARS LATER
Yeah, just leaving work now.
What?
You found a notebook and a letter
in my old closet?
You don't even live here anymore.
Is it okay if I get rid of it?
Yeah, sure.
Can't think of anything in there I would need.
Really? All right then.
-Talk to you later. -
- -That letter!
Looking back on it,
I can remember some of the details of that story.
In a magical kingdom,
there lived a count's daughter named Konoha.
Yes, I named the heroine after myself.
When her younger sister's potential fiancé,
a dashing young man named Ginoford, comes to visit,
she meets him by chance.
For both of them, it's love at first sight.
However,
a certain someone stood in our spellbound hero's way,
and that was Konoha's younger sister, Iana.
Iana was known for being wicked through and through.
She seethed with jealousy toward her sister
and could find fault in anyone.
A villainess to her core.
Iana will cause trouble.
That was the reason Konoha and Ginoford
weren't allowed to meet openly,
and also why they couldn't announce their engagement.
Even so, Konoha loved her younger sister.
But Iana was spiteful, and harassed Konoha
in every way she could think of,
eventually threatening her life.
A real backstabber.
Oh, you finally found it.
It certainly took you long enough.
My deepest apologies.
This is the book that will collapse
the identity of whomever reads it?
Yes. It's called "The Dark History."
Oh, wow, I really did it.
With this, I can finally be rid of my sister!
No, don't read it, Lady Iana!
There's no way to know when I'll be called upon
to start my new life,
so I better leave a letter in this world
while I still can!
Dear Mom and Dad, I am no longer in this world.
Don't worry, I'm fulfilling my destiny
and going on a fantastical adventure.
I wonder what my backstory will be like in another world.
I hope I keep the name Konoha
and I'm a beautiful young heroine in love.
REALIZES SHE'S A SAINT ,THAT IS THE
BEGINNING OF HER TRAGIC FATE.
Character bios are super important, right?
Now then...
…what kind of story will I create
for all of these different characters?
Lady Iana, stay awake!
I found you, Iana Magnolia.
Let's see.
I think I do remember this scene.
You're under arrest
for plotting to murder your sister, Konoha.
Iana, that name's familiar.
She's the villainess in my old story, isn't she?
I'm Konoha Satou though.
So why did he call me Iana? That doesn't make sense.
I was coming home from work,
talking to my mom on the phone, when…
You will remain in this cell and await your sentence,
Iana Magnolia.
You vile villainess.
It's the imprisonment plot.
And he's referring to me as Iana.
There's no mistake.
I've actually been reincarnated!
MAGICAL ABILITY IS
MORE IMPORTANT THAN STUDY ABILITY
"The Dark History"
is just a stupid story that I made up
back when I was a cringey teenager
in middle school.
The fantasy world I set it in
revolves around a perfect heroine named Konoha,
who saves the world whilst being protected
by a harem of handsome men.
And now I've been reincarnated
into the heroine's number one enemy,
her evil little sister, Iana.
Iana. Are you all right?
I was so worried when I heard the police had arrested you.
Come, let's head home together, sister.
ANGEL HEROINE KONOHA MAGNOLIA (18 YO)
This can't be Konoha.
The character I wrote?
You're not hurt at all, I hope.
Her voice is so nice,
and she smells like honeysuckle.
She's totally real. I can't believe it!
She's a literal angel.
Konoha! Get away from that woman.
THE EMBODIMENT OF ALL WISHES GINOFORD DANDELION (19 YO)
It’s him! The gorgeous hero, Ginoford!
Step aside, Konoha,
and I'll end her plotting for good.
I can't let you do that.
She's the only little sister I have, Lord Ginoford.
- Even so... -
This scheming wretch has spread baseless rumors
throughout the estate to stir up trouble.
She slipped money into your servant's hand
to poison your drink.
She snuck an assassin at the ball.
And now, she dares to use "The Dark History"
to destroy your sanity.
And she´s also the one
who switched out your horse for an old cow.
Oh, man.
I get top marks for creativity,
but dang, past life me was a real sadist.
Every story needs a villainess to torment the heroine, right?
- Gino? - Please understand.
I dare not go on…
…without you.
After the happy couple rubbed that in my face,
Konoha argued that I shouldn't be held responsible
in my current state.
And I was sent to a remote territory
owned by the count's family,
where I was to remain under house confinement
for three months.
Thank you, sister!
All hail the helpful heroine!
This is the perfect chance for me
to get acquainted with this world.
I think Iana's supposed to be killed
during her house arrest
by a man hired by the count's family, though.
Whoa, hang on.
That means I'm actually headed towards certain death!
Konoha saved the man who's been hired to kill me
from being sold into slavery when he was a little boy.
He's been in love with her ever since
and tries to protect her whenever he can.
Lady Iana, starting today,
you will be spending the next three months
here at this estate.
You're free to go outside
provided you remain on the grounds.
Iana scares them.
We've prepared your chambers for you
on the second floor.
A trusted servant has been appointed
from the count's household
