A trap set by the alien forces
aboard their spaceship has claimed the life
of General Rolf Emerson.
Now, the 15th Squad races desperately
to find an escape route.
Sergeant, these corridors
all look the same to me. Which one leads out?
Who knows? We'll just have
to keep trying till we find one!
Huh? Hey, look.
It's Lieutenant Crystal and Lieutenant Brown!
Quick, over here!
Everybody, get down!
Let's get outta here!
Lieutenant, Musica says we may be near an exit!
Terrific! Is everybody here?
Yes, ma'am. Everybody except Zor!
Zor? I thought he was with you!
My Lord, our situation grows
more and more critical.
In spite of repeated defeats in battle,
the enemy prepares for yet another offensive against us.
Since the capture of Musica by the alien intruders,
there has been a serious disruption
in the bioindex among many of our clones.
We must concentrate our main efforts
on the quick recovery of the Protoculture.
Eliminate anyone with a bioindex of less than 70 percent.
Oh, but My Lord--
Do not argue!
They may not submit to elimination, M'lord.
There have been reports of rebellion among them.
Isolate them within the ship!
Stability must be maintained
so our forces will have the time to regroup.
We must begin an immediate counterattack
against the Micronians.
Let's see what's in here.
Hmm. Looks like we found a storage area
for some of their troop carriers.
That means an exit must be nearby.
So how come they aren't guarding this area more carefully?
That bothers me, too.
It's like they want us to take one of their ships.
I don't like it. These shuttles could easily be booby-trapped!
And even if they're not, how are we gonna figure out
how to fly one to get us out of here?
That's why we need to find Zor.
Phooey! We can get off this ship without any help from him.
We're not leaving him behind!
Not after what he's been put through
by the Robotech Masters.
--I'm going after him! -- Wait, Lieutenant!
Come back here! Oh, for cryin' out loud!
Sarge, I'm going back too.
What's that?
Musica says her people may be
in terrible danger.
And how does she know that?
I'm sorry to be a burden to you, Sergeant,
but I can sense it.
My sisters and I function together.
Everything each of us experiences
becomes a part of our collective personality.
And my sense memory tells me
that they are both in need of my help immediately.
I'm sure they'll be all right, Musica.
I'll go with you and we'll rescue them.
Yep. And I'm going along, too.
Since you all seem to be determined to go,
I don't suppose it would be very honorable of me
not to come along with you.
Wait a minute, I'm in charge here!
I'll decide whether anybody goes or not.
That's right, you are in charge. What do you say, Angie?
You wait here while we go find them.
We are about to begin a major offensive,
and I expect every man to do
his duty in defense of the Earth!
-- -- We're ready, sir!
And all across the planet,
at every outpost of the Earth Defense Forces,
the same scene is being repeated
as men and machines prepare themselves for the last
in a series of major assaults against the enemy invaders.
Commander, all reports indicate
our forces are in formation.
Civil defense preparations are complete
and we are ready to launch.
Mm. Gentlemen, our backs are against the wall.
I expect this to be the final showdown
against this enemy.
Make sure all our commanders understand
this will be a fight to the finish.
Yes, sir!
Huh?
Hmm!
Take me to the Masters! I mean you no harm!
My business is only with them!
Ready?
--Fire! --
Huh?
Hmph! You are a fool, Zor,
if you believe you have the power
to stand against us by yourself!
Now that your quest has failed, I am instructed to offer you
one final chance to rejoin us!
Never! I shall not stop
until I destroy this society or it destroys me!
It is as you wish!
Prepare to fire!
Stay down!
Thank you for saving my life, Dana,
but I must go on alone.
No way, pal. I'm coming.
This will be too dangerous, Dana.
I plan to confront the Robotech Masters
and destroy them.
That's fine. As long as you don't destroy yourself
at the same time.
Watch out, now!
I don't get it. Where is everybody?
This place was full of people earlier, and now no one.
You think they all went to a different part of the ship?
Either that, or they all left the ship.
Now that's unlikely, isn't it?
Hmm.
There are my people!
They are outside the ship! We are too late!
They have been abandoned by the Masters and set adrift!
-- Are they alive? --Yes, but doomed.
Eliminated.
I'm so sorry, Musica.
Maybe we can still save them.
I'm afraid a rescue operation would be pretty difficult
to pull off, Bowie.
I don't understand why the Robotech Masters
would abandon all their people anyway.
Allegra. Octavia.
My sisters are here!
His bioindex is down.
I'm afraid there's no hope for him.
There's always hope.
Oh, I would feel better if Musica would come.
Without the sound of Musica's harp,
I have no will left to live.
You must not say that.
We must live on our own.
We know nothing of survival as individuals.
Our lives have revolved around the triumvirate.
Then it's time for us all to learn a new way to live.
Musica is willing to stand on her own two feet and survive.
We can still be rescued!
It is much too late for any hope of rescue.
And even if we are rescued,
how will we adjust to life on our own?
On Earth, preparations
for the final offensive are complete,
and battle orders are about to be given.
Alien fleet at coordinates R5.
This is a code three red alert! Repeat, code three...
--Uh, well, sir? --Mm-hmm.
All squadrons airborne and engage the enemy at once!
No prisoners!
The Micronian fleet is advancing toward us, My Lord.
Assign half our fleet to engage the enemy in space.
The remainder will go down to the planet.
Once there, they must retrieve the Protoculture.
And so the alien strategy is set.
A flanking operation to avoid the Earth fleet
and to swoop down on a defenseless area
near Monument City, an area they have determined
contains the remains of the original battlefortress.
And hidden inside its Reflex Furnaces,
the Protoculture matrix they so desperately seek.
There lies our last hope for eternal life
and the guarantee of perfect stability for millennia to come.
This time, we must let no one prevent us
from obtaining the matrix.
Yes, our time has finally come.
With the addition of the new Protoculture to this,
our last fertile matrix,
we shall finally have the power we need
to regenerate ourselves and our society
for the rest of eternity.
Our victory is within reach!
I shall never allow such a victory.
So you have finally come.
We have been expecting you, Zor,
and you have not disappointed us.
Then I assume you know my purpose.
Yes, of course.
Your purpose has always remained the same.
You are the embodiment of Zor,
creator of the first Protoculture
and the Master responsible for our development.
You mean it was Zor who also developed
the Zentraedi people?
Zor became the prime force
