Death Walker - Second Season

The Olde Park Hotel located in Ballinger, Texas,

has a past that is shrouded in mystery.

This two-storey home existed long before the town of Ballinger, Texas

was established in 1886

by the Santa Fe railroad.

In 1905, a flood occurred that engulfed this entire area,

destroying many old records that were kept inside the courthouse

located across the street from the hotel today.

The records would have revealed the answers

as to how old the original building truly is

and if the home harboured a dark history

before it ever became a hotel.

This building had three different names

from 1890 thru 1919

and was originally a meeting house,

boarding house, school house, restaurant,

music store, an antiques store

and even a brothel.

It wasn't until 1920

that this building would maintain the name

known as The Olde Park Hotel.

The building frequently underwent renovations

making the building today 10,000 square feet.

Parts of the building are believed to have originated from a ghost town

called Ronald City.

These parts predate the old main structure of the building.

During the American frontier, three notorious outlaws

associated directly with Ballinger, Texas and this building

are John Wesley Hardin, Emmanuel Mannie Clements

and Jim "The Deacon" Miller.

They were all responsible for killing numerous people.

Emmanuel Clements was shot to death in the Senate Saloon

in Ballinger, Texas in March, 1887,

by city marshal Joseph Townsend.

Joseph Townsend would late be ambushed

and believed to have been killed by a professional assassin, Jim Miller.

Jim Miller was eventually lynched by a mob of people in 1909

shortly after being arrested for murdering a Deputy US Marshal.

To this day, Jim Miller's spirit has been rumoured to haunt

the Olde Park Hotel building.

Connie and Dan LaFave purchased the property in 2016

and were informed by the previous owner

that the location was haunted by 30 spirits.

Over time, many visitors have experienced ghostly encounters

including strange boot steps,

various apparitions of cowboys,

spirits of children,

and bordello women.

Other entities, and even the former owners of the hotel

are believed to be haunting the building.

There's even a strong rumour suggesting that the two outlaws,

Bonnie and Clyde, stayed inside the hotel.

This is fascinating to me, since she was born just a few miles away

in the town of Rowena, Texas.

I was also told that a dark presence

takes the shape of a tall man,

lurks in a room located in the back of the hotel

and is known to physically lash out at the living if provoked.

Since I have been given exclusive access to investigate

this entire building for three days and three nights,

I will live, sleep and eat here and try to determine

if these notorious outlaws do, in fact, haunt this building.

I will also seek out this entity labelled as The Tall Man

and see if it will be willing to physically harm me.

This will allow me to understand who or what it is

and whether this entity is intelligent,

or is it attached to one of Dan's many haunted items

inside The Olde Park Hotel.

Ballinger started out as

a really busy central hub

and everybody had these great expectations for it.

But as the outlaws came into town,

the Newton Boys, Bonnie and Clyde, Mannie Clements...

..all of those people turned it into a very, very bad place.

Because this was a boarding house, we believe that outlaws stayed here.

That they came to the brothels, that they played poker,

and that maybe, during the prohibition time,

they maybe even ran liquor.

But the people that have died here.

Right across the street,

we have the jailhouse where people were hung at the gallows

just right there.

People have experienced scratches,

break possessions, pushing down the stairs,

we hear doors rattling at night,

we hear boots walking.

They see girls, children,

men, especially cowboys.

They see a lot of cowboys walking around.

We hear from four to five in the morning,

we hear what sound like

an ominous cowboy walking around.

You can hear his boots.

We tend to think that he might be Jim "The Deacon" Miller

who was a notorious outlaw here in Texas.

As well as Mannie Clements, another outlaw that was killed

a street over from here.

We've had people scratched multiple times.

We've had people pushed down the stairs

a few different times.

People thrown out of their chair and back.

And when we say people are touching this building,

it's not a subtle touch.

It's like the strongest feeling you can have.

And you usually feel it coming cos right before

those events happen,

people feel our famous cobweb spider effect feeling.

And we always tell people to be on alert

cos when you feel that

we tell them something else is coming.

And it usually does.

When I was in my room, I'm asleep and I get up to go to the bathroom

and I'm immediately engulfed in a shadow.

And I feel my whole body paralysed,

like I can't move.

And I can't breathe.

And the entity is just on me.

And I look up, and I see a huge black figure.

My breath is so gone and so lost that I have to turn,

turn the light on to get to the bathroom.

I turn back around, and it's not there anymore.

For the last five years that we've owned this building,

everybody seems to end up in this room.

I've had different psychics here in the building.

They have all picked up on a vision of a man and a woman

having a really extreme argument, fight, standing right here.

The woman's back is to the wall.

The next thing you know, the man lunges at her

and grabs her round the throat and pushes her up on the wall.

And then the vision goes out.

We want to find out the hidden story.

We want to find out this mystery.

We think a woman was either brutalised

or possibly even murdered in this room.

I'll admit I brought some haunted dolls into the building

on top of everything else.

Maybe I brought in some other things with these dolls.

I really don't know.

Whoever is in this building next,

we just tell people be ready,

the building's very mysterious,

it has a way of doing things, it has a way of jumping out at you.

You just have to be prepared for it the best that you can.

My gosh.

Someone just screamed in this whole thing.

I have goosebumps all over my body right now.

Holy fuck! Right behind you.

It was just knocking right behind you.

That was really crazy.

I heard a scream, then when you walked out there was like

knocking right behind you.

It like rushed you. Yeah.

Justin and I both feel something is following us.

The energy is intensifying as we pursue after it.

We make our way to the first floor

where the spirit board room is

and begin further making contact.

I have this old radio.

I'm gonna scan a lot of the radio frequencies coming through

and see if I can pick up on

any spirit voices that I can communicate with.

Can you come through and communicate with me?

Is it easier to use the spirit board?

And can you use me as an antenna?

Can you use me as energy, as somebody that you can move through

into this room, into my body and try to communicate?

I need to figure out who's hurting people here.

Just feels strange in this room.
