The first 191 lines.

Dusky Bridge

While we were at Hazakura Temple in the mountains for Maya's training,

picture book author Elise Deauxnim was murdered in its courtyard.

Maya was training at the time,

and she was stranded in the Inner Temple after a lightning strike.

And after I went to save her and failed, I got trapped in a hospital, too.

The one arrested for the murder was Sister Iris,

a mysterious nun who looked just like Dahlia Hawthorne, the girl I'd never forget.

I entrusted her defense to my friend Miles Edgeworth.

As he fought his formidable adversary, Prosecutor Franziska von Karma,

and had his back to the wall, that man showed up.

Objectionnn!

Objection!

Larry!

I'm not Larry. I'm Laurice Deauxnim!

Deauxnim?

I saw what happened that night.

For Iris's sake, I'll tell you everything!

Season 2

Bridge to the Turnabout — 3rd Trial

Laurice Deauxnim, is it?

It seems he was the disciple of the victim, Elise Deauxnim.

That night, he was in a mountain shack near the scene.

It's called the Heavenly Hall!

Do you know something about the incident?

Yeah, I'll tell all!

I, Laurice Deauxnim, won't run or hide!

Says the guy who ran away as fast as he could yesterday!

Please testify to the court, then.

Witness Testimony

Yeah, Iris took the snowmobile that night.

But it wasn't to commit a murder.

It was for dinner!

Dinner?

Yeah!

She was all like, the curry is ready! She looked so cool!

And later, I was in that shack sketching... in my dreams.

H-Huh? What is he talking about?

He must mean he dozed off while sketching.

That's when I heard a huge crash!

It was so loud, my mind went blank.

I saw that run-down bridge on fire,

and when I rushed there, I ran into Nick.

Was the bridge still intact then?

I guess it'd reached the end of its bridge life. It was up in flames.

Nick tried to cross it anyway and fell.

What?!

His life isn't in danger. He did catch a nasty cold, though.

I can never tell if that man has the best or the worst luck.

Larry...

According to the police's records, you called them at 11:30 PM that night.

Wh-What about it?

Dusky Bridge was struck by lightning at 10:45 PM.

Why is there a gap of 45 minutes between the strike and the call?

The shack you were in is a stone's throw away from the bridge.

What were you doing in that time?

W-Well, y'know...

Talk! Now!

I'm a Deauxnim! An artist!

Isn't it obvious what I'd be doing? Sketching, of course!

S-Sketching?

The bridge was aflame, and so was my heart!

Then you were simply sketching until you met Wright?

Exactly!

An artist can sacrifice anything for the sake of his art!

That's not for you to decide!

Larry, show us that sketch.

Wh-What? Why? I don't get it!

Yesterday, you said you saw something "crazy."

Does the sketch have anything to do with it?

Even I couldn't have imagined

that Laurice Deauxnim would make his grand debut this way.

Ow!

Show it! Now!

Okay, but steel yourselves.

This is the world Laurice Deauxnim sees!

Ta-ta-dah!

What is that mysterious flying object above the bridge?

Ah, you spotted that. It's as you see.

A-As we see?

It's Iris, of course!

I can't believe she flew like that.

She's a girl, so she should take better care of herself.

What if she'd hurt herself?

Are you really claiming to have seen the defendant flying?

Yep. That's why I drew it.

This is all a bad dream. I hit you on the cheek to test that theory.

Whip your own cheek, then!

So yeah, Iris didn't need no snowmobile.

She could fly, after all!

Th-This is hardly believable.

This is Laurice Deauxnim's world?

It's too dangerous!

Miles Edgeworth!

Bring this witness back down to earth!

Wh-Who, me?

Yes, you! This artist is your friend, isn't he?

Yes, you are an accessory to his foolishness.

You're an accessory, Edgeworth!

I wish I could send him flying as high as he is this very instant!

You say the defendant, Sister Iris, flew over the burning bridge?

Yeah. She went all "zoom" ten meters above the bridge.

That was one seriously impressive arc.

And where was she flying to?

No idea. I only caught a glimpse through one of the shack's windows.

And then I started sketching in a frenzy.

But how could you tell it was the defendant?

Heavenly Hall

You couldn't have had a good view from the shack.

Who do you think I am? I'm a Deauxnim.

And a Laurice at that!

I have proof, obviously!

What?!

Yep, yep.

After Nick fell from the bridge and I called the police,

I picked up something crazy there.

"Something crazy"?

It was this!

I-Is this... a crystal sphere?

Isn't that the thing on Iris's hood?

It must've fallen off when she landed.

True.

The hood did have a crystal sphere on it.

Th-This crystal sphere has bloodstains on it!

Bloodstains?

This is why I said she should take better care of herself.

Did she get hurt when she landed?

Objection!

Objection!

There is one thing I can say for sure about your testimony.

Wh-What is it?

The person in your sketch couldn't have been the defendant.

Huh? What?

On the night of the murder, Iris wasn't wearing her hood.

But in this sketch...

Oh, you can see the hood right there!

But how would you know my dear Iris wasn't wearing it?

That night, she gave her hood to someone.

To Phoenix Wright.

N-Nick?!

What, was he the hooded figure you drew?

No fair, Nick!

What's the deal with you and her?!

How do you explain that crystal sphere, then?

It was found at the foot of Dusky Bridge! It's bloodstained, too!

It's too big.

It's obvious at a glance.

That crystal sphere is too big to be attached to a hood.

G-Good point.

That night, there was one person who lost a crystal sphere and left bloodstains.

Who was that moron?

Elise Deauxnim. Your mentor, you moron.

E-Elise?

Y-You say it was the victim?

As you see here,

her cane has a similar crystal sphere.

But can you prove that the sphere here was hers?

The evidence tells the whole story.

The crystal sphere is gone!

Th-Then, it was the victim who flew across Dusky Bridge that night?

That would be the logical conclusion, despite the fact that humans cannot fly.

Objection!

Objection!

A fool alongside another fool, on a fool's errand to reach a foolish conclusion.

What are you talking about?

Elise Deauxnim was in her room at Hazakura Temple the night of the murder.

There was no reason for her to go to Dusky Bridge.

True, there is no proof that Elise Deauxnim left Hazakura Temple that night.

But there is a chance she did!

Nothing to say,

Miles Edgeworth?

Can I really prove it?

No, it doesn't matter if I can or not.

I have to prove it!

Because that is how Phoenix Wright always does it!

This sphere points to a new possibility.

A new possibility? What is that?

That the murder didn't take place at Hazakura Temple,

but at the foot of Dusky Bridge!

Wh-What? We had the scene wrong?

What are you saying? It can't be!

The victim went to Dusky Bridge that night.

There, something happened that detached the sphere and left bloodstains on it.

And that "something" is her murder?

The killer took her body to Hazakura Temple

and made it look like she was killed there.

Objection!

Objection!

Did you forget?
