The first 200 lines.
- Someone told me a story once,
back when I first arrived on the island, about a fisherman.
His wife was pregnant, and one day at sea,
there was a storm
and she fell overboard.
He couldn't save her.
The story goes that after she died,
he never stepped on land again.
Just kept sailing, looking for her,
waiting for her to come back to the surface,
until eventually a storm took him, as well.
Some folks say they still see her sometimes,
wandering, waiting,
trying to find her way back,
back to her unborn child,
back to live the life she always wanted.
It's a sad story, but I don't know.
Every time I hear it,
all I can think is maybe she didn't drown.
Maybe she just found a way out.
Maybe she was one of the lucky ones.
Eve!
Eve! Hey!
What are you doing?
You were gone for ages.
What were you doing out there?
What are you doin'?
- I went for a swim. - We missed ya.
How was the water?
It was good.
- Sure you don't want me to drive?
- Yeah, next time, buddy, next time.
Hey, you okay? - Yeah.
Just- - What's up?
No, I'm dizzy.
- Oh, probably got tremors there.
Just shake it out.
You hear what Sal was saying over dinner, babe?
About that anonymous complaint?
It was Trisha, so he's letting her go next week.
Which means gonna need a bit of help
finishing off Orchid Street.
How do you feel about filling in again?
It wouldn't be much.
The complex is basically empty, so.
Baby, you listening?
Yeah. Trisha.
She's the one who calls me Greta
every time she sees me.
Wait, you're Greta?
Huh, suddenly everything makes more sense.
Would you help us out?
Just this once, little duckling?
- Oh, you buttering me up? - A little bit.
It'll only be temporary, I promise.
- This whole trip was supposed to be temporary.
- I know, but look how good you look with a tan.
Just sayin'.
- You are not convincing me to move here permanently.
No, no, no, I'm sure I'm not.
Not when someone's pickin' the color of the wallpaper
for the nursery.
- Stop! - I'm joking, I'm joking.
Come on, come on, come on, come on.
Please. Babe, look at this.
When I met you, you were singin' for beans
at some shit hole cafe.
Hey, I like that cafe!
I know, I know, but.
Babe, I'm earning money for the first time in my life.
Like, real look after us money.
All right? And right now we're just renting.
And could you imagine owning a place like this
as our little island getaway?
And I swear, come spring, anywhere in the world.
You choose it, we'll live there.
- Anywhere? - Anywhere in the world.
- Anywhere. - That's right.
You spin the globe, point to a place,
and we'll live there,okay?
Except back to Rhode Island.
- Yes, except back to Rhode Island.
That wasn't quite the island life
we were looking for, was it then?
- I just, I want to live somewhere a little more realistic.
You know, raise a family around our family?
- Yeah, I know. I want that, too, babe.
All in due time. We're not there yet.
Why you lookin' like you're trapped here?
- Well, I'm sure I could hitch a little catamaran
back to the States while you're onsite.
- Yeah, that one's free. - Oh, perfect!
- But before you go, can I just
introduce you to my little friend?
Oh! - Ah! Not fair!
- Ah! No! - Look! Thief!
No, no, no, no, no, no!
You're crazy!
No, no, no, no, no!
You get it! You get it!
I'm late.
Holy shit. How late?
Five weeks today.
Okay.
Anything to Peter?
No.
Look, I just, I wanna be sure this time, and I just,
I can't put him through all that again, you know?
Yeah.
- But I made an appointment for Tuesday.
Well, damn, mama! Okay!
Okay?
- Oh, I have a really good feeling about this.
Ah, reign it in, reign it in.
- I'm reigning. I'm like totally reigned.
I'm just shopping, I'm talking,
being like totally chill and normal.
Look at me.
But also, oh my god!
You're gonna have a baby!
- Just, just not until I get a result, okay?
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh!
Ooh, look at that one.
Uh, that's a circle.
Yeah, it matches my chairs.
- Yeah, but I'm not gonna let you come here
and buy a circle.
Oh, these are cute, though.
You lost, miss?
Sorry?
You look lost.
Take a tour, see what's out there.
Maybe you'll find your way.
Eve, come on!
The dresses that I saw last week are here.
I wanna show you. Come on.
Hi.
Hi, yeah. It's Eve Carver.
Um, I just wanted to see if I could come in
for a pregnancy test.
Yeah, it's been about five weeks.
Tuesday.
Okay. At 3:00.
Great.
Okay.
Double the space.
Corner end unit. - It's right here.
- Foot traffic. Everything you need.
I gave you your notice.
Whatever.
We're still outside. This is not cool.
Let's go.
Good luck.
Hi, Trisha.
Fuck off, Greta.
It's Eve.
Hey, babe?
Babe? - Yeah, yeah?
- What are you doing with that office stuff?
What? Oh, yeah.
We downsized one of the offices this week.
I had a bunch of stuff left over.
I thought it makes sense to put it in the extra room, so.
- The extra room? - Yeah.
- The nursery? - Yeah.
- Yeah, but you called it the extra room.
Yeah, that's what it is.
I mean, it's been empty for a couple of years now.
You can change it back whenever you want.
So are you giving up or?
- Giving up? - Yeah.
Giving up on what?
Trying.
Hey!
No, no, no, no, no. Sorry.
Hey, that was my bad.
I was supposed to mention it to you.
No one's giving up.
No one's giving up.
I'll change it back.
I just wanna do
whatever it is to make you happy.
Little spin. Just a little spin.
Just one for me, is all.
Now it's my turn. Oh!
It's so darling.
Oh, I do it better.
It's the English charm. What can I say?
Very charming.
You look absolutely-
Ooh! They're here!
Oh! Already?
I thought that they were coming in a half hour.
- Battle stations! - Uh!
- Get the wine! Get the wine!
Champagne!
Hey! All right!
Look, you never need a reason to drink.
But in this case, I would like to toast
