From 2010 to 2012, the number of visitors to Korea has continued to increase.

In this past year, we surpassed ten million

in the number of foreign visitors in Korea.

That's really amazing.

The effects on the economy are greatly beneficial.

To put it simply, the amount spent by ten visitors

is comparable to a month of exporting minivans.

Wow that's a huge amount!

We owe the increase in tourism to the hard work of everyone at

the Ministry of Culture, Korean Tourist Organization

and Korean Center for Overseas Visitation.

We can't forget about the Hallyu Wave.

Dramas, movies and K-Pop have not only taken over Asia.

They've expanded across the globe and gained popularity all over the world.

Interest in Korea has naturally increased as well.

As a driving force in the Hallyu Wave, Kwanghee you must feel the effects.

As a Hallyu star, I'm really happy to play a part in the Hallyu Wave.

For Korea, I'll continue to work harder.

I'm the minister of Korea's Ministry

of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Choi Kwang Shik.

It's the first time in Korea's history

that there have been over ten million tourists in the span of a year.

What do you think is the main reason

for the influx of visitors to Korea?

It's the first time that we've had this many visitors in a year.

First, I believe that our nation is held to a higher standard

especially since many Hallyu Stars are here today.

Along with the popularity of Korean dramas, movies, K-Pop.

Because Korea is a appealing country, many people are coming to visit.
