The first 200 lines.
Washizu, your hand is dead, isn't it?
Reviving a dead hand and letting it lurch around is just a nuisance.
Return to the grave.
Oh, yes!
Come on, Yasuoka!
What's wrong?
That's your winning tile, right?
He can't do it.
Oh, my God! Yasuoka got a bunch of kan dora!
Damn, what should I do?
Chi.
That was a call you shouldn't have made.
Right now, we needed to give Washizu no opportunity at all.
But now he doesn't get the last draw. He can't get his haitei win anymore.
There's more left.
Just watch.
I'll educate you.
What?!
Kan!
Now, let's see the new dora indicator.
What?
So now it's san kantsu, rinshan kaihou, four dora.
The heavens just commanded me to carry out your execution.
Please, just don't pull the 4 of characters.
If he doesn't, then I'm sure Akagi will win.
The oracle has spoken.
God has chosen me.
Extract the blood!
Akagi Shigeru...
2,000 cc is a fatal amount.
Hey.
You are about to begin your journey to death.
It is your right to face your death without crying or screaming.
However, you really are a strange one.
You don't even tremble.
You are a true madman.
We'll start with the first 100 cc.
Go ahead.
The total amount of blood we've drawn is now 1,500 cc.
Here's the second vial.
Altogether, it's 1,600 cc.
Good, good, good, good.
Watching a man laugh as he dies is quite entertaining, too.
1,700 cc in total.
1,800 cc in total.
This is now 1,900 cc in total.
I'm impressed!
With your small build, I was sure you'd be dead once we withdrew 1,900 cc.
What a frightening will and surprising resilience you have.
100 cc more and it will be over.
What a short life it was.
Go.
Yes, sir.
The fading consciousness...
The angel of death drawing closer...
I'm about to enjoy a pleasure
I've not felt before, in the 75 years I've been alive.
Akagi...
Akagi!
Akagi!
Hey, Akagi!
Hey!
Akagi!
Such an absurd match.
Thinking back, it was foolish to even begin it.
It was an insane battle.
Akagi...
Akagi Shigeru
Because you just had to say things like that.
It's not enough.
With this rate you cannot perish.
I want the rate to be raised tenfold.
You had so many chances to get back the blood you lost.
Let's return all of the 1,100 cc of blood you've lost!
I don't need it.
Just give it all to me in money.
Akagi, are you in your right mind?
What are you talking about? This is the time to replenish!
And then you had to that on top of it...
What are you doing?!
Hey!
This is what I mean.
And still, you survived well enough...
That time though, that one time, I really didn't feel you were alive...
I can't believe you had done such a crazy thing.
Akagi!
Hey!
Akagi!
It's done!
I want you to take all this money over there, to my vault.
Yes, sir.
Ougi, let's not forget your promise.
Tie him up over there!
We'll cut off his arm!
Hey!
Bring me my sword!
Wait!
You took all the money. You don't have to take his arm, too.
You want to give up yours in his place?
No...
How many millions do you think this man made me wager?
Of course we'll take this arm.
Let me fulfill the promise we made as men.
I'll cut that clean off for you.
Come on, it'll hurt just a little bit.
It'll be over before you know it.
Akagi...
Akagi!
You bastard!
Episode 6
Washizu Mahjong
Washizu Mahjong.
These are the tiles used.
Three of the four tiles in each suit are transparent,
making their faces visible even from the back,
and only one is a regular tile with a black back.
No walls are built in Washizu Mahjong.
Tiles for the starting hand and each draw are taken from a hole in the middle of the table,
wearing a leather glove on the right hand to prevent feeling which tile is grabbed.
Once the starting hands are drawn, the dealer draws one more tile from the hole.
This is the dora indicator.
The same applies to reverse dora and new dora from kan,
which are drawn from the hole when the need arises.
If Akagi can survive through six East-South matches with these rules, his side wins.
Should he die before then,
he will lose all that he had amassed up to that point,
and victory will go to Washizu's side.
1000 points = 1 million
The rate is set at 1,000 points being worth 1 million yen,
or 100 cc of blood.
1000 points = 100 cc of blood
It's a one-on-one match between Akagi and Washizu.
At the end of each East-South match, points are tallied up, including rank bonuses.
Additionally, bonus payments are due every time a direct hit
or a tsumo win causes points to trade hands between Akagi and Washizu.
These payments are made immediately, in cash or blood.
This is the essence of Washizu Mahjong.
Washizu Mahjong
Akagi!
Are you all right?
I'm okay, kind of.
Why are you still alive?
Why can you talk?!
A transfusion...
What transfusion?!
You haven't gotten a single drop of your blood back!
Not here, no...
"'Not here"?!
If I reveal the secret, it's so simple.
Two weeks before I came to this match,
I had about 500 cc of blood withdrawn at a hospital.
You had blood withdrawn?
Apparently that's the limit... to how much you can increase the amount of blood.
And then, on the way here I went to the hospital and had that 500 cc put back.
You're late.
Where the hell were you?
I know someone who works in a hospital.
I got this from them.
He's saying he won't even have a cup of tea poured by the other side.
What I mean is a had my transfusion done before the game even started.
Akagi...
You're saying you didn't just go for these?
Which means, instead of the normal 4,500 cc of blood,
I had an additional 500 cc, so 5,000 cc altogether.
Basically, a hidden stash.
Something you're familiar with.
I'm going to kill you....
Washizu-sama!
Let go!
We're taking a break!
I wasn't expecting that.
You got a transfusion before the game.
Are you feeling all right, though?
I got a little weak before, but I'm fine now.
Though if I had to say, it's my fingertips...
Are they numb?
Yeah.
But I don't have any problem controlling the tiles.
Then we're good.
You should get some rest.
Luckily, the other side is taking a break, too.
Since you're weak?
No, I don't think that is true.
What?
I don't think I'm the one weakened right now.
It's Washizu.
Resting now would be giving my enemy a helping hand.
If I rest now, it'll get away,
that uncertainty that Washizu has finally shown for the first time this battle.
Akagi...
It's a one in one thousand chance.
Now or never. Right here.
Akagi...
His life is smoking...
The false celebration backfired, and now,
that godly vitality is beginning to smoke like a fine mist...
I won't let this chance slip away!
Washizu-sama!
Washizu-sama!
What do you think about insisting on tsumo wins
