The first 151 lines.
In the Spring of 2017 four financial guys from Oslo shared their stories with us.
This series is based on those meetings and others with similar professions.
I guess the point of this is that I should give - some kind of picture of myself, how I became successful?
-Just talk freely. -My name is Adam. I'm 39.
Married to a wonderful woman. No children.
Since I was 25, I have started and sold three companies.
It's just managing the hedge fund I do myself.
We had our best year last year. 17.8% return.
What kind of society would we have -
- if you could do whatever you liked and be true to yourself?
Just been yourself. Not the socilized version, but the true one inside you.
If you were 100% authentic, that which you are inside.
Thats an interesting experiment.
Because I earned my first 100 million before I turned 30.
It's getting harder to find challenges you get a kick out off.
-Are you going? -Yes, I have to work.
Sleep some more,
Love you.
It's a pretty tough industry.
It's tough sometimes. Many who cant handle it.
But you never will underestimate capital, energy -
and inferiority complex.
-Hi. -Hi it's me. What have you done today?
-Not so much. -I have to work late today.
Some investors are flying in, I have to- take them to a quick dinner. Dont wait up.
Show off!
Fuck it!
Hello. Adam? Open the door!
-Adam! Open the door! -Go away, Henrik!
Come on! Adam!
-Come. -Adam, we splitted on her!
Open the door!
This is your last chance!
Come on! I'm comming in! And I'm going to participate!
You stand still! Do not move!
This is going to be alright. I'll keep him away.
Go and get the first aid kit in the bathroom. Henrik!
Take it easy. Breath. It will pass.
Here's the money. Take them. You're going to be fine.
Something everyone agrees on what everyone believes in, -
is that money, is something real.
It is the only common religion. Nobody can deny it.

-Call Kjølsen. -Calls Kjølsen.
-Kjølsen? - Can you be kind and ask your guys to wait an hour before they start?
-No one sanblasts their house 6:30 am -Do they? I did not know that.
-I'm not home before tonight. - Then call them and ask them to lay off that!
Cant do that, rented them for only one day. Maybe they are on a Polish time zone?
Kjølsen, Norway and Poland are on the same time zone. Just tell them to quit! Its impossible to sleep here..
-Then we're even. They woke you, you woke me -Yeah, difference is you can go back to sleep.
Over here it sounds like fucking hell has broke loose.
Love you.
- Is it the whore slayer? -Yes, damn, that was ...
-I'd like to know how that sentence ends. -First foremost, I feel we had a good time.
-Maybe not everyone there agrees. -You looked like you had fun.
Yes, but I'm so easy to please. I'm having a meeting soon. Was it something?
I just wanted to ask if you want to speak at my wedding?
-As best man? -It's nothing more than a speech.
I have a service that takes care of everything, so just relax.
Well, you have two months to find every superlatives there is.
-William and Jeppe, then? -That is why I only ask for a speech and nothing more.
Otherwise someone could be disappointed, and we do not want that.
-No we dont, OK. -Wait, you ...
I have to go to a meeting in Monte Carlo. Do not understand why anyone would want to live there.
-But maybe I could borrow your apartment in Monaco? -Sure. I'll make sure its clean.
Clean up? You know you're sick right? Your very sick little wonderful head.
That apartment is the cleanest there is, except for maybe a surgical room.
It's clean because I take care of it, What can I say? I'm the clean type.
-Was everything Ok when you came home yesterday? -Yes, she slept. And you?
-She slept as well. But It's going to get harder now, -What do you mean?
My daughter will have a birthday while I'm in Monte Carlo. I couldnt care less
But Tomine is going to get mad. No, wait she's going to be disappointed.
She's going to be so disappointed! "I'm so disappointed."
Nothing is more boring to hear then that! Although she has a point in this case.
As if she's there any more then me. They now call the au pair for their mom.
-Which of them? -I only have two, she thats nice looking and the fat one.
The fat one is more like her mom, other is just nice.
I dont want to spend time with them until they are older any way. And I work all the time.
-She does nothing. -I have a meeting, as I said.
-We are going out to Thief later. -Greit.
In my youth I had lots of different jobs.
Never belonged anywhere until I stumbled upon an economics degree.
Then I thought: What am I good at?
Yes, to persuade people. I'm a shopkeeper.
Can sell anything, to anyone, so I took another semester.
That was where I met Henrik. Do you know him? It was in England.
Then it was time to roll up your sleeves and start working.
-Hi. -Hey you. You slept when I left.
-Yes, I did. -What are you going to do today?
-I'm on my way to training. -What more?
Then I'll take the fertility test on ABC.
-It was today, that, yes. -Yes.
-When do you get an answer, then? -I think it will take at least three weeks.
When did you get home yesterday?
Not so late. I sat up a bit.
Do you remember we are going to dinner at my Mom's tonight?
-Adam ... Come on. -Greit. I have to go now.
Hello. You have a board meeting in 20 minutes. Do you want to go through the quarterly reports?
No, I wrote them. I know what it says.
-You, if you have time ... An espresso. -Absolutely.
Because there is a security in it.
Having children?
And you mean it can fill that void, as you call it?
I do not know.
-What do you think the void comes from? -I do not know.
Yes you do. You're too smart not to have thought it through.
I do not know if everyone will agree with you on that.
I really have nothing to complain about.
I have a man who loves me.
I have ...
Everything that I can think of.
-Tell me about you. -What?
What you want as you think is important.
You say you have a void.
OK.
Well, I never really fitted in anywhere.
My father ran steel in Kristiansand and did well - until he did not.
My parents divorced when I was 11. He's dead now.
Mom took me and my brother back to Oslo when she moved home.
She had absolutely nothing.
But it was vital for her to pretend she still had money.
I knew no one ...
I kind of did not know the codes either.
Therefore ...
That void has nothing to do with Adam.
I have never fitted in anywhere.
But I know I'm going to be a good mom.
And Adam is going to be a good dad.
And I think he deserves to have something else to focus on than just work.
Actually, there's no problem.
I'm having a bad day, but it's going to be okay.
Still, have you come out here to me?
On the other side of town from where you live.
What do you mean now?
Here you do not risk meeting someone you know.
Because you have no problem.
We are in the process of completing the low-margin projects -
- and will see increased margins in the future when newer projects are completed.
All this culminates next year.
Already now the profit is 13% better than expected.
Ebitda is 7% above expectations and 12% better than consensus.
We had an Ebitda margin in the second quarter of 22% ...
8% ... And consensus ...
Thats it for me.
-Hi. - Could you pick me up on the road?
Of course.
-Have you caught a cold? -No, it's just the pollen crap.
-It's ringing on the other line here. -OK. See you soon.
No that does not work. You'll have to take another round.
Yes.
Can you put the phone away when we're there?
